Exception 4 - have a question around this statement: For German transit VISA
- are holding a valid visa or other residence permit for the USA (this includes advance paroles, but not approval notices), Canada or Switzerland and travel to the country which issued that visa or residence permit
do not need transit VISA.
Does that mean if you are travelling from India to US (with valid US Visitor VISA) u need a transit VISA.
Above exception seem to appy only if u are travelling to country that issued u the VISA (india), but in this case we are travelling from that Country to US.

Hey guys I guess now interim EAD is possible if application is pending for 75 days.Got this information on murthy's site(In weekly Bulletin).Below is the link

If you are referring to this paragraph , The answer is , field offices will NOT issue interim EAD. They can however request one and I think that is what they do today (Some field offices, as per Katri)when you take an appointment at local office to raise this issue:
The CIS Ombudsman has been engaging in discussions with the USCIS filed offices, in an effort to institute a uniform policy to assist EAD applicants with applications pending for 75 days or more. Since interim EAD production could take several days, the Ombudsman believes it should not be necessary for an applicant to wait for 90 days before requesting an interim EAD at the field office. Field offices no longer issue EADs; however, they can request interim EADs for pending applications. Mr. regrets that some field offices are not focused on helping their customers to continue uninterrupted employment, when the customers are doing their part to abide by the laws and maintain the validity of their EADs.

I wrote to a lot of anchors, newsmen. Got 2 replies. One was from Bloomberg, the financial TV channel. The reporter from Tulsa emailed me back the same day (within a few hours) saying that he is interested in the "legal immigration" angle and would like to pursue it if I was willing to be interviewed and be photographed. I set up a time and place for the interview and the photo.
I had two conditions that the reporter agreed to:
1) He would not use my employer's name, and
2) After he finalizes his story, he would read back all my quotes to me to ensure no misquotations.
He graciously complied with both my requests. I was surprised to see front page coverage. I sent a Thank you email to the reporter after the article was published. He told me that various people (legal immigrants) from the Tulsa area had contacted him after reading the article and wanted to know more about Immigration Voice.

While the thread was started on a light note, I think this is a serious topic.
Most of the people in the developed (and increasingly in the developing) countries are over-weight. I believe people are over weight, because they are not eating good food. People just follow the latest fad (in India this is oatmeal, soybeans etc. for now).
I have successfully managed my weight below 24 BMI for almost a decade now by eating good food. The key is "moderation" and eat unprocessed food as much as possible.
If you have to choose between whole milk and fat free milk, choose whole milk. If you have to choose between red rice and white rice, choose red rice. If you drink, do not drink the cheapest variety. Go for Blue label or Hennessey and drink just a peg a week. Go and eat the most expensive cut of beef and eat just an ounce of it. And for the record, I haven't found anything wrong with traditional breakfast (uppuma, puttu, dosa and what not). If you like the taste of oatmeal go for it, but once in a while.
And do not forget to do some exercise everyday. 30-40 minutes of walk, bicycling, swimming, playing some games; any thing will do.

With my limited knowledge on this topic -- Unemployment is not considered a social burden. It is funded by all employers. At no time, govt funds this pool with tax payer's money so I would not call it a social burden. Personally, if unemployment office is ready to give me a check, I would collect it !

My I-485 Receipt Notice does not have any PD on it either.
ALl I-485, repeat ALL do not have PD date on it. Only the I-140 approval notices have a date filled in.

i have not done visa extention for my mother in law, but i had asked lawyer about it when last year my mother in law was here.
Lawyer said it's possible to get extention. and they need traveler's check of $5K on my mother in law name to send for extention, which proves she has enough money to stay and travel further in USA.
i had not followed it, but this time i'm going to do it when my in laws visit again.
I would say it would be batter to go through lawyer as they have different tricks to get it faster and easily.

i lostmy legal in 2002 (b2). during 2003 i won gc lottery . we did al paper work till last step.my lawyer toll me dont go couse deportation. In 2005 my employer apply gc for me (em3) In April 2006 I-140 aproved.now we waiting for priority date..
My question to you .. my lottery case priority date can be use for my eb3 case?

Nice idea. Sometimes, bare facts are worth quite a few pictures as well. How about compiling and forwarding the following information for each of our family units?
Items can be :
Years spent in the US.
Federal and state income taxes paid during these years.
Social Security contributions made.
Dollars and hours already spent on the immigration process.
Number of U. S. Citizen kids, if any.
A concise writeup on how the applicant's skill set positively impacts the employer.

by now everybody might have heard stories about how USCIS pulled staff and worked overtime and weekends to utilize the 60k visas in one month to prevent the july 485 filings.
What I am wondering is why did they do it. One obvious reason is the incresed fee comming into effect from July 30 2007. In addition to it what are the other reasons.
Is there any agenda within USCIS to prevent people from getting EAD and ac21 benefits?
Is USCIS filled with anti immgrant mentality who have takem upon themselves to make our lives difficult?
My guess is that this was done by the Bush Govt! So that there would be an outcry and he can get his CIR bill back into the senate. I hope it works!

Regarding my friend, His 140 was denied but he was already on EAD by then.His 485 was not denied ( maybe they were not processing his 485 at that point.He is a july 07 filer under EB3-I). The appeal for 140 denial was filed and it is still pending(8 months now). Meanwhile a 2 yr EAD has been approved.
I am not sure if this process is followed for everyone as each case has its variables.....

So, before taunting anyone you should understand the meaning of "Donation".
Hold on .... I am NOT taunting any one . Even I did not contribute for many months . I had a major conflict with many IV members including Papu regarding some of IVs objectives.
While I still hold my views , I can see IVs effort in other directions as well and that made me contribute to specific efforts.

2 bags or 1 - they are check in luggage - not to worry about it until she reaches India and gets a coolie to help her out.
I have seen many Indian ladies with toddlers, having 3-4 carry on luggage along with strollers - please make sure this does not happen. This is something that they have to hold on to for all the in between stops, and go through so many security checks...........It is painful to watch them struggle, and other passengers end up helping them.

Though I sent webfaxes, But I am not very convinced.
Its same text in every fax. Its not personalized.
For senatores it will be a spam kind of thing. So many faxes with just different name but same text.

One can apply for EAD renewal before or after the current EAD expires. If you do not need a new EAD to continue working, there is no need to apply for a renewal well in advance. It won't raise any flags if you apply after current EAD expires. I did it without any issues. But because the new EAD will be valid for one year from the date a current EAD expires, there are no benefits in waiting either.
