I hadn't been to a Body Shop for ages. I just couldn't stand the thought of spending 17 euros (20 dollars) on a body butter (one of their best products) or something alike. I never liked the feeling of a body butter on my skin. I never feel like it does anything to improve my skin.
Yet, on a cold and rainy day just a week ago, I passed a Body Shop in Antwerp and couldn't resist on getting one of my favourite scents in warm buttery form... the Shea Body Butter...
Just my luck, they were selling medium sized jars (50 g) for only 2,5 euros (3 dollars). I don't know how long this sale will last, but be quick!
So I bought 2. Shea butter has a delicious smell, almost better than cocoa butter. Nothing makes me feel good like a hot shower and a slathering of shea butter! It's a scent that most people love, unlike vanilla, chocolate or lemon, which don't necessarily bring cleanliness to mind, rather food. The smell of shea butter both brightens and compliments the windy cold autumn days.
Then I noticed an interesting looking lip butter. I have to say I like their lip jellies better, since you don't have to rub them in (you can dab it on), so you don't have to smudge your lipstick.
Sidenote: picture of a Body Shop "Born Lippy". They smell, taste and feel amazing.
I also loved the look of the tantalising lip butter "Yes Yes Yes", meant to have an arrousing effect. I never tried it but I might buy it online because I'm not sure if they're still selling it.
Now my eyes were drawn to a lip butter with big lips on the tin. It smelled amazing and on the back it said it contained dragon fruit. I love dragon fruit. It like a huge white kiwi with black seeds with the taste of melon, cherry and raspberries combined. Very exotic! I decided to buy it, for 5 euros. I tried it at home and I have to say that the smell doesn't last very long. It's clear, and if you want to apply lipstick on top of it you'll lose the scent completely. A great thing is though that I got to donate the price to a non profit organisation of my choice. I got to choose between the World Food Bank, Gaia (animal rights) and Amnesty International. I gave my 5 euros to the World Food Bank, as I really despise food being wasted every day.
I also got a small tea tree moisturizer. This is a day cream that helps combat impurities. I've never had a moisturizer that would help against zits! Also 2,5 euros.
So all in all 4 products for only 12 euros. I'm a happy girl!
