Scents
- Been loving candles during these cooler, dreary months. They really lift the spirits up and make everything so cosy and relaxing. Hubby and I went to shop for more since we both enjoyed Yankee Candle in the house. We took home our first Dyptique scented candle in Baies Noire [translates to black berries]. I believe this is a new limited edition. The candle is presented in a black glass container. Baies Noire "recalls a bouquet of roses and blackcurrant leaves". We both absolutely LOVE this.
- Yves Saint Laurent "Belle D'Opium" Eau de Parfum: My wonderful hubby bought this for me while we were on holiday in Hawaii, and I've been loving it since. I've been wearing it pretty much everyday during during autumn and will definitely continue wearing it during the coming winter as well. It's a quite different from the types of fragrances I've been used to in the past which usually leant more light, sweet and floral. To me, "Belle D'Opium" is warm, sweet fragrance that's perfect for the cooler months of the year. Just makes me feel all cosy inside. ^_^ hehe... Don't be fooled by the word "opium" in the name as it's nothing like the previous YSL 'Opium' fragrances! Worth taking a sniff at it in store if you ever get the chance. ;-) For a more detailed (excellent) review of this perfume from a fragrance expert (unlike myself!) - check out Katie Puckrik Smells' video.
Hands
- As you may have noticed in some of my recent hand poses in my blog for NOTD posts and such, my skin's quite dry especially since it's getting colder in my neck of the woods. (Apologies, sometimes I'm a little lazy to apply hand creams!) However, I always carry with me my favourite drug-store/pharmacy brand of hand cream, which is the QV Hand Cream. I like it coz it's extremely cheap and it does its job brilliantly. I first bought this when I was shopping around for a hand cream that was fragrance-free, etc that would help soothe my irritated, inflamed skin after I'd been using chemicals to clean the house and not wearing gloves!!! Tsk! Tsk! (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!). The SA recommended this and since then I've been hooked. I applied this on my sore hands and overnight my hands had healed! If you have sensitive skin or damaged skin like I did, this thing will work wonders for you. It's free from fragrance, colour, propylene glycol and lanolin. I also LOVE that it doesn't leave a greasy or oily feel. Just don't over work or rub it too much on your hands as it sometimes has a tendency to "ball up"(?) - that's my only very minor issue. Still, I LOVE this.
Face
- Burberry Beauty 'Fresh Glow' Luminous Fluid Base: Surprisingly lovely when mixed with powder eye shadow (as the SA recommended), and also just to give my face a natural all-over glow while hydrating it at the same time during these dry cool months.
- Garnier 'Miracle Skin Perfector': another something new I picked up a couple of weeks ago as I heard good reviews about it. So far, I've been enjoying using this most days. It helps even out my skin tone, it feels moisturising and the shade is pretty good for me (I have it in 'medium'). This is only my second B.B. Cream I've tried after Mac Prep + Prime Beauty Balm SPF 35 which I also like especially for the summer as it has a higher SPF protection. Garnier's is obviously more affordable, and it's a good one for autumn/winter as it still offers some sun protection at SPF 15 UV. It feels lightweight and it contains vitamin C.
- Guerlain Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush from the new Guerlain by Emilio Pucci Collection for Summer 2012. Been using this a LOT, and every time I use it, I get excited. Love everything about it. My previous review has the details of why. It's one of my most exciting (if not the most exciting) product of the year so far.
- Burberry Beauty Light Glow in 'Blossom Blush' (No. 05) - beautiful coral shade with exceptional powder texture that I always associate Burberry Beauty with.
- Givenchy Le Prisme Blush Bucolique in 'Bucolic Poppy' (#2): Another super pretty shade! I heart this. (See my review here).
Lips
- Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 'Flirt' (#69): This is really a gorgeous, gorgeous coral pink shade that's sheer but still carries enough pigment for this kind of low-maintenance formulation, and it has lots of the pretty sophisticated sparkles that only Chanel can deliver. It makes my lips look fuller, and makes me smile every time I wear it. Feels lovely on the lips, too. LOVE.
- Burberry Lip Mist in Feather Pink (No. 209): This is my HG / staple lipstick. As you may be able to see, I'm close to using it all up (you can click on the image to enlarge it). I've reviewed this in a previous post, which basically said that this is my current all time favourite lip stick. This is super moisturising. Will always be in love with this. ^_^
- Guerlain KissKiss Gloss in 'Cherry Fizz' (#820): Been enjoying applying this by itself when I'm in a rush, or out somewhere casual. Very pretty "I-just-ate-
berries-cherries" look and feels smooth without being too tacky/sticky.
Eyes
- Chanel Ombres Contraste Duo in 'Sable-Émouvant': A scintillating natural beige and intense brown duo with excellent powder texture. I've been wearing this almost everyday since I bought it. So easy to apply and wear especially for work when I'm in a rush and it looks effortlessly beautiful. It's becoming one of my neutral eyeshadow staples.
- Burberry Eye Shadow in 'Midnight Brown' (No. 21): one of the best eye shadows I've come across. Amazing texture and pigmentation - consistent with the rest of the eye shadows from Burberry - hence, why I own so many of them because they are truly exceptional. Other than that, you'll just have to try it out for yourself. ;) (If you like, check out the other shades here and here).
Hope this was somewhat interesting.
Thanks for visiting! ^_^ xo
