Hello November, and apparently hello Forever 21 Cosmetics For Ipsy (bag). This month not only was the bag all glittery but it was by: Forever 21 Cosmetics for Ipsy. Since I'm extremely far behind on my Ipsy reviews/posting let me just dive rite into this one.
The bag! I like it, but this is not a bag I am in love with. Forever 21 is known for their makeup bags. I have seen some pretty amazing affordable bags by them. So why such a small bag? I would have liked to have seen a great design or shape, something out of the ordinary. I feel like this is just another Ipsy bag, nothing special about it. It will hold some type of toiletry or make up in due time. Just wish it was something with a grander purpose.
Elizabeth Mott "You're so Fine" waterproof liquid eyeliner
The brush (the "stippling brush") as I like to refer to
I thought I would show a picture comparing it to a lead pencil and a pen tip. Showing how large the eyeliner brush is.
I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Mott cosmetics. So when I saw that there was a full size "You're so Fine" waterproof liquid eyeliner in the bag, I was beyond excited! This retails for $17.99. Sadly my excitement was short lived, ugh! The color I received was "Glitterati," let me better explain the color. Basically it's black with silver glitter. I'm all for glitter so I was fine with that, until I used it. I don't know if it was the formula, the glitter or the brush. Sadly this would not apply with any type of grace. This was not going to make any type of straight or thin line. The brush looked like a stippling brush! No joke! This was a complete fail! This sadly went to the trash.
Temptu sample size of 3ml S/B Highlighter in "Pink Pearl". Full size of 1 oz retails for $27.50. This would be great if I had an airbrush system that used these types of drops, but non the less this could be applied with my fingertips or a brush. I like this but am not in love with it. I prefer powder highlighters. This is extremely watery and is meant for an airbrush system. This is silicone based and does have a floral scent to it. I could see myself using this in the summer or even adding a few drops in my body lotion to give my skin a radiant glow. I feel like this has more uses then just a highlighter. I'm low key liking this and trying to find all sort of uses for it.
J.Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in the shade
"WLP111 Red Potion"
Swatches of the J.Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in the shade "WLP111 Red Potion". Notice how it bleeds out, and how watery the formula is.
Full size J.Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in the shade "WLP111 Red Potion". This retails for $4.99. Now this is some serious color. I am almost afraid to wear this outside of my house on any other day then Halloween. This is a deep vampy wine color. Okay, so maybe it's not that bad once I got it on my lips. The color seen in the tube is not the color in real life. This has a medicinal minty scent to it and when worn can no longer be smelled. Now that were on the topic of being worn, be forewarned that this feathers out badly and also does not wear well at all towards the inside of the lips. I found that it started to wash away (thats the best way that I can describe it) while I talked and so on. This wore off and left what looked like paint splatters where my lips touched. This also loved to wear off on my teeth. In all this was too much work, then it was worth. To make this work I had to wear a lip liner and fill in my lips to help the feathering and to make the wear appear even. Ugh, I was really hoping this was going to be magical. Sadly this was no love potion.
Travel size of 1.5 0oz Marc Anthony "Oil of Morocco Argan Oil" volume hairspray retails for $2.99 and full size of 9 oz retails for $8.29. I'm a huge fan of hair spray, I'm still living in the 80s and love me some big hair! So I am always for some good hairspray. I found the scent of this to be delightful, be forward that the sent lingers. I enjoyed that my hair smelled good and could be smelled by other, but this may be a problem for some. The hold was nice. This did not leave my hair too stiff but did its job. I did find a sheen making my hair appear to look healthy and shiny. In all I liked this very much. For the price, I feel that you get what you pay for and there is some good quality to this. I will add this to my shopping list when it's time for some more hairspray.
Be A Bombshell eye base in the shade "Submissive"
Swatch of Be A Bombshell eye base in the shade "Submissive".
Last, my least favorite brands Be A Bombshell full size 0.09 oz eye base in the shade "Submissive". Retails for $14.00. Nothing special here, just another disaster! This did not make a good eyeshadow base at all. This was a tacky, glittery mess. It creased and felt oily on my lids. I was not at all excited about this product and this too made its jurney to the trash.
In the end was this worth the $10.00? The bags contents totaled $37.97, too bad 3 out of the 5 were duds. I only liked the hairspray and am still trying to find uses for the extremely small highlighter drops. This bag sadly was not at all worth the $10.00 for me. There may have been some high priced items in the bag, too bad they were trash for me. Oh well, on to the next.
